Not a Single Hole in Your Wall

Landlord-proof, wall-proof, and up in under ten minutes. The mounting brackets fix with heavy-duty adhesive pads onto tile, gloss-painted wood, glass, or metal — no drill, no dust, no deposit anxiety. Mounting on plaster, plasterboard, or brick? Screws are in the box too, so you're covered either way.The Oravia guard is built for a changing mind.

  • Holds Where Others Slip

Heavy-duty adhesive pads grip smooth surfaces, and screws are in the box for plaster and brick. Whatever your wall is, it stays put.

  • No Sneaking Underneath

Floor hooks anchor the bottom edge flush to the ground. No gap to squeeze through, no escape route.

  • Clears Your Skirting

Adjustable brackets sit proud of the skirting board, so the gate hangs flat instead of bowing outward at the base.

  • Wipe Clean in Seconds

Scratch-resistant mesh takes muddy paws and wet noses. A damp cloth and it looks new again.

Tall Enough That They Don't Bother Trying

At 95cm, this gate stands a good head taller than most retractable barriers — high enough that a determined springer or a countertop-surfing cat thinks twice instead of taking a run-up. And unlike a metal pressure gate, there's no bottom bar to step over a hundred times a day, and nothing left cluttering the doorway when you retract it.

Why Pet Parents Switch to Oravia

Most gates ask you to choose between keeping your pet safe and keeping your home intact. We didn't think that was much of a choice. WE wanted our customers to have a seamless way of living for them and there pets.

  Standard Gates

95cm tall — a head above typical retractable gates

Installs without drilling into walls

Adhesive and screw mounting both included

Retracts fully out of sight

Floor hooks stop pets sneaking underneath

Adjustable brackets clear skirting boards

No bottom bar to trip over

One Gate. Every Doorway in the House.

Kitchen at dinner time. Top of the stairs overnight. The bedroom when the new sofa's still in its wrapping. Sizes run from 110cm to 180cm wide, so it fits standard doorways, wide hallways, and awkward open-plan gaps alike — and it's light enough to unclip and remount somewhere else in minutes.

    Perfect for our puppy

“Oravia Guard has made life so much easier with our new puppy. We can keep him out of certain areas of the house without having a bulky gate taking up space. It retracts away neatly when we don't need it.”

Much better than a traditional gate

“We tried a normal pet gate before and it was constantly getting in the way. This is so much cleaner. We can open and close the space quickly while still letting our dog move around the house when we want him to.”

    Great for our cat

“We needed something to keep our cat away from one room, but didn't want a permanent barrier. Oravia Guard is easy to use, looks neat and takes up hardly any space when it's retracted.”

    Great for multiple pets

We have two dogs and a cat, so having a way to control where they can go is really useful. Oravia Guard fits nicely into our home and is much less bulky than the gates we've used before.”

FAQs

Which size do I need?

Every size is 95cm (37.4in) tall. Measure the width of your opening at its narrowest point and pick the size just above it.

  • 110cm wide (43.3in) — standard doorways, kitchen entrances, narrow hallways
  • 150cm wide (59.1in) — wide hallways, stair openings, larger doorways
  • 180cm wide (70.9in) — open-plan gaps, patio doors, extra-wide entryways

Between two sizes? Go wider. The gate retracts, so extra width costs you nothing once it's rolled back.

Will it actually stay up without drilling?

On smooth, clean surfaces — tile, gloss-painted wood, glass, metal, sealed uPVC — yes. Wipe the area first, press the pads firmly for 30 seconds, and leave them 24 hours to cure fully before first use. On plasterboard, textured plaster, wallpaper, or bare brick, use the screws instead. Both sets are in the box because we'd rather you fit it properly than fit it fast.

Can my dog push underneath it?

Not if you use the floor hooks. They anchor the bottom edge tight to the ground and close the gap that most retractable gates leave open. Fit them at the same time as the brackets — it takes an extra two minutes and it's the difference between a barrier and a suggestion.

Can my dog just jump over it?

At 95cm it's taller than most retractable gates, which puts it above comfortable jumping height for cats and the majority of small-to-medium dogs. A large dog with a running start is a different question — see the note at the bottom of this page.

What if I've got a skirting board?

The mounting brackets are adjustable, so they can be packed out to sit level with your skirting. The mesh then hangs straight down instead of bowing outward at the base. If your skirting is deeper than 2cm, measure before ordering and get in touch — we'll advise.

Is it suitable for cats?

Yes. At 95cm it's tall enough to deter most cats, and the mesh is close-woven so there's nothing to get a claw into and climb. Determined climbers and serial escape artists are another matter — no soft-mesh gate on the market will stop a cat that's genuinely committed.

Can I use it outdoors?

Yes — patios, decking, balconies, garage doorways. Mount to a smooth, dry surface, and bring it indoors over winter to protect the retraction mechanism.

What's in the box?

The gate and retraction housing, two mounting brackets, adhesive pads, screws and wall plugs, floor hooks, surface prep wipes, and illustrated instructions.

Before you order

This is a pet barrier, not a substitute for supervision. It's designed for cats and small-to-medium dogs — a visual and physical boundary for a pet who respects one. It isn't a restraint system for a large, powerful, or highly anxious dog that throws its full weight at barriers, and it isn't a child safety gate for unsupervised use near stairs. If that's what you need, a rigid metal gate is the honest answer.
